Michael J. Seech - Michael's love affair with the guitar began in the Autumn of 2003.
An amateur drummer seeking something for him more fulfilling, he picked up an old acoustic guitar that had been sitting around the house for quite sometime. His father, noticing his increased interest in the instrument, bought him his first electric guitar for Christmas that year. He explored the instrument for a while, and then in the Spring of 2005 his father, seeing that he needed more direction, enlisted the help of a teacher named Ray Brown. For the next few years, Michael studied jazz style guitar.
In 2007, Michael got his feet wet for the
first time in front of a live audience. It was that night that he met a man,
Clifford Babcock who would become a true friend and a mentor on the instrument
for which Michael was now developing such an affinity. From that moment on,
guitar became much more than a hobby. It became Michael’s best friend and soon
the true love of his life.
Michael has had the opportunity to
play with many fine hometown musicians and various venues around the country
including headlining the OTT RALLY in Nacogdoches, Texas, and performing at the
Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota during the annual Black
Hills motorcycle rally.
Michael has opened for national
acts including Pop Evil, Taproot, Trapt, Stephen Pearcy, formerly from 80’s
“hair” band Ratt, and another iconic 80’s “hair” band, Slaughter.
Currently Michael’s day job is
playing sweet blues and Southern style rock as lead guitar for Michigan touring
and recording artist, Iron Cowgirl Missy.
